I went home for the first time since the beginning of the semester for Thanksgiving break. My parents had just come back from Taiwan and brought back so many goodies for my sister and I. They also went on a tour to Japan's countryside, and I must say, nothing beats an adventure in beautiful Japan.
Doesn't she look so lovely under the Chinese umbrella? The umbrella is a mini bamboo one from China when my mom went last year. I love traditional Chinese and Japanese things.
In one of the historic towns my parents stopped by in Japan, my mom found a store that sold only lunar rabbit merchandise. Lunar rabbits hold a special place in Japanese and Chinese legend, which symbolize longevity, fertility, and the yin. In Western societies, we know the "Man on the Moon", but other societies know it as the "Rabbit on the Moon".
Ok, enough of the history lesson! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday! I certainly did. I bought a pair of jeans, a beautiful suede biker jacket from Guess, a pair of comfortable ankle boot heels, and a few Christmas gifts, and saw a few friends from high school! I wasn't looking for anything in particular, and I would've bought more, but some stores only had select items for sale. I'm positive that there will be lots of sales the week before Christmas, so I'm just going to wait until I'm back home after final exams!
I absolutely can't wait for this semester to end. Trips are in the planning between Eileen, Priyanka, and I!! Plus on Christmas Day I'm flying to New Jersey to see Jon and a couple other friend from our Taiwan TTT group!
