Isle of Palms

On Friday night over dinner, my family decided to take a spontaneous trip to the beach. We drove to the Isle of Palms, one of the many barrier islands off the coast, the next morning.

My family's beach setup. This tent thing is really neat! It's large enough for two adults to lie down in, offers a large area of shade, and is less likely to blow away when there's wind compared to an umbrella. Maybe it's an East Coast thing, but it always seems to be windy at the beach.

I haven't been in the waters at the beach for almost 3 years, so this trip was exciting for me! I played around like a kid - kicking up water, jumping waves, throwing wet sand (into the ocean). And as you'll see in the rest of this post, I had a grand ol' time playing around with my camera!

So many beautiful beach houses!

I was walking back to shore when I suddenly felt a prick on my toe. I lifted up my feet, thinking that I stepped on a shell. But no, this little crab was dangling on my toe!

A silly girl high on summer

What a great day at the beach! Look how far the tide goes out from the homes!

Dinner at Banana Cabana, one of the few restaurants on the island. They have interesting drinks, including banana daiquiri's. hmm...maybe I'll check it out next time I'm back to this island!

It's my last week of summer already! Time flew by so fast, and now I'm rushing to wrap everything up by Wednesday night. There's so much to do - finish my internship, pack for college, organize school event, finish updating résumé, pack for my last summer trip (St. Louis and possibly Chicago!), and more. No, this time I didn't procrastinate. Crossing my fingers that I cen get them done on time.
