Coincidences and Consequences
She hums softly.
She’s already forgotten the words he taught her.
But the song is catchy, and it’s stuck in her head.
He stumbles a bit and bumps into her.
Have I met you before?
The question goes unanswered but you can see him thinking it over in his mind.
She brushes him off and walks away.
She is sitting in a photobooth.
Staring blankly at the camera, she should be used to having her picture taken
But she cringes at the flash.
He walks by, holding another girl’s hand.
Their eyes connect and it’s there again:
Some kind of crackling electricity.
Where have I met you before?
He turns away and puts his arm around his girlfriend’s shoulders.
It is cold.
Her gloves aren’t enough to fight the sting of the winter chills.
Her grip is tight on the ropes of the swing.
She has twisted herself around, and around
She lets go.
The world is bright and fuzzy and spinning.
When the motion stops, she is breathless. He is standing before her.
She blinks. Could it be? A spark of recognition.
I know you.
Sitting in front of a stack of books,
(Sitting in front of a cold cup of coffee)
For what, they don’t know.
A line from a poem
(A note scrawled on a napkin)
I have to find you.
At an airport terminal,
She sits waiting for her plane.
She does not know where she is going, only that is far far away.
He buys a paper at the newsstand, takes the only empty seat.
He looks up in acknowledgment.
Their eyes meet.
The boarding announcement is called,
They are on different flights
Bound for different places.
She stands up.
He clears his throat.
She tilts her head and for a moment…
She sees what it means to be with him.
She sees a future, and a family.
(Is that what I want? She asks herself quietly)
She turns around and walks away.
And for a moment,
He thinks about going after her.
But only for a moment.
- written by my friend Kara
“People keep telling me that I fall in love too easily- that I should protect my heart, that I shouldn’t wear my heart on my sleeve… I fall in love at least 20 times a day. I fall in love with the sky and the sun and the flowers and my children. I fall in love with smiles, with music on the radio and with french fries and Dr. Pepper. I fall in love with the sound of laughter, blue jeans, accents… Sometimes I fall in love with complete strangers, especially the ones holding hands and kissing in public. The ones who aren’t afraid to be in love with the idea of being in love either… I don’t mind the pain of unrequited love so much, because I think they’re wrong. Love looks good on me.”

Valentine's Day. The national holiday in which we spend time with whom we love aka girlfriend & boyfriend, husband & wife. How do we define "love"? A majority of us will define it as a strong attraction to another person. But love, as Natalie Anne Erlanson once said, can be anything that you have a passion for. It's not just loving a human being. We fall in love with so many things that we don't account for on Valentines Day. What about the sunshine, a good movies, soup, the ocean? For all those out there who are just chilling at home by themselves, go outside and enjoy something you love today.
This is possibly the cutest, sweetest thing that I've ever read on my tumblr dashboard.
Today was crappy for me just because I was so exhausted that I could barely think at all. BUT there were some good moments. The best one? haha, I can't exactly state it here (unfortunately), but lets just say that...it makes me stop and think about what has happened since last week. I think that there's something going on that makes me pretty...curious as to what might be happening. and yes, it's about particular person.
a beautiful, old song by DBSK. It's even better if you understand a bit of Japanese.
Sorry for the long post. I was originally going to a post on something ridiculous like last's year's VDay post, but I couldn't find that epic thing I was going to put in my post.
Happy Valentine's Day!
